Airlines fear meltdown if flying does not resume

Airlines and airports are staring potential oblivion in the face – but with millions of jobs at stake around the world they say they can not wait for a vaccine before they start flying again.

Aviation bosses told MPs today they wanted common international standards – with graded safety measures including PPE for staff, and passengers required to wear masks.

But would all that make people confident to travel again?
