Afghanistan: Who are IS-KP?

The Islamic State affiliate, known as IS-KP, which says it carried out the bombings, is considered the most extreme militant group in Afghanistan.

Its fighters have been blamed for attacks on Afghan politicians and security forces, as well as aid organisations, targeting girls’ schools, hospitals and even a maternity ward.
