A&E wait times worst on record – as seen from onboard an ambulance for a 12 hour shift

Leading accident and emergency doctors in England and Wales have said patients are dying prematurely in hospital corridors as the NHS faces one of the worst winters in recent history. A&E bosses wrote to the Prime Minister today saying safety is being compromised by “intolerable” conditions.

At the same time, the organisation NHS Providers, which represents NHS trusts, has said the service has reached a “crunch point”.
