New figures out today show that more than 1.5 million people have now applied to remain in the UK after Brexit under the Government’s EU Settlement Scheme. And nearly three hundred thousand applied in August alone.

But many are being put into a so-called pre-settled status category which means they have no guarantees of being able to stay in the UK with the same rights that they currently enjoy.
