Content Strategy and Planning

Content Strategy and Planning is responsible for creating the most innovative and competitive schedules for Channel 4, E4, More4, Film4, 4Music and 4Seven. We co-ordinate long-term channel strategy and liaise with the commissioning teams to ensure the best ideas are nurtured within the schedule. The schedulers also work with Acquisitions and colleagues on All 4 and online to deliver our content across a number of linear and non-linear platforms.

The team reports to Ian Katz, Director of Programmes, and manages the entire lifecycle of all programme ideas - from the original pitch to finalising a programme's place in the current schedule. Once a programme is commissioned we monitor production delivery whilst the channel schedule evolves. We factor in trends in viewing and developments by our competitors as the forward schedules evolve into the final transmission week.
