No, to watch full-length programmes via the All 4 service or video clips, you have to use Flash and therefore you need Adobe Flash 9.0.11.5 or higher.
For All 4 and some of our other video clip content, you need to use Windows Media Player. If you have more than one media player on your computer (RealPlayer, QuickTime Player, etc.), please set Windows Media Player as your default media player to avoid problems accessing this content.
To make Windows Media Player the default media player:
- Open up the Windows Media Player application. Click on Tools Options.
- Click on the "File Types" tab. Check the boxes for "Windows Media File (asf)", "Windows Media Audio file (wma)", and "Windows Media Video file (wmv)".
- Click "Apply" and then "Ok

Log in to the site and select the 'Manage Account' link at the top of the page. Select the 'Edit Details' link from the Personal Details section. From here you can change your title, first and surname and your display name. Finally, once you have made all your changes, select the Save button.

We have added an automatic timeout to our Watch Live service to ensure that streaming stops if nobody is watching. This helps us to conserve resources. Streaming will resume if you respond to the prompt.

Yes you can, but remember to sign out at the end of your visit to keep your settings and preferences private. You can see if someone, other than yourself, is currently signed in on the computer you are using by checking the signed in status at the top of the page. If the username displayed is not you, simply sign out and sign back into the site.

No, but for some activities, like watching programmes on All 4, you will need to log in.

It’s normal for the video to buffer for a short time before playing and on changing channel.
However, if the video continues to buffer for a long time the most likely cause is that your Internet connection isn’t fast enough, or you have an intermittent connection. This can sometimes occur if you are using a shared Internet connection and somebody else is using it at the same time. Another common reason is that you’re using a mobile data connection. But of course your Internet connection may just not be fast enough, in which case you should talk to your ISP.
Check your Internet connection speed by using a speed test site such as www.speedtest.net (we take no responsibility for third party websites). We recommend a minimum speed of 2 Mb/s, but the service will still function at lower bandwidths, albeit with reduced video quality. However, once the available bandwidth drops below about 700 Kb/s the player is unlikely to work at all.

Please note Film4 Productions Parental Controls are separate to those that may have been set on other Channel 4 websites/apps. For example, if you have set up PIN protection for content on all4.com, this will not be recognised by film4productions.com and a new PIN will need to be set up specifically for content on film4productions.com.
How do I set a parental control PIN on film4productions.com?
You can enable your Parental PIN via the Parental Controls page, accessed by clicking on the ‘Parental Controls’ option in the film4productions.com navigation. Or at the point of play when a video has displayed a Guidance warning and the link to ‘Turn on Parental Controls’.
From the navigation, click ‘Parental Controls’ to go to the Parental Control page. Input a 4-digit PIN and select ‘Turn on Parental Controls’.
From the video player, Input a 4-digit PIN and select ‘Turn on Parental Controls’.
Your PIN can be set at one of two levels: All rated content (16+ years of age only) or 18 rated content only (18+ years of age only)
You will be asked to confirm you have read the Terms of Use.
All rated content (16 and 18)
If you choose to set it for All rated content (16+), then anyone wishing to view content suitable only for users over 16 years of age will need the PIN.
At 18
If you choose to set it at 18 rated content (18+), then anyone wishing to view content suitable only for users over 18 years of age will need the PIN.
Your PIN will be required in order to view rated content each time you log on to film4productions.com but only once per session.
If you share your PIN with, or allow your PIN to be accessed by, anyone else and it is entered by them, then all content on film4productions.com will be accessible, including 18 rated content suitable only for adults. Please keep your PIN secure.
What if I forget my PIN?
If you ever forget your PIN, you will be able to contact 4Viewers via the Contact Us form to have it reset.
How do I disable the Parental control PIN on film4productions.com?
You can disable your Parental PIN via the Parental Controls page accessed by clicking on the ‘Parental Controls’ option in the film4productions.com navigation. Or at the point of play when a video has displayed the PIN entry boxes with the option to ‘Disable Parental Controls’.

Don’t worry, if you’ve been streaming a channel for 3 hours without interruption, you’ll receive a prompt asking if you’re still watching. If you don’t respond within 30 seconds the live stream will stop.

If you mouse-over the player you’ll find a volume control button in the bottom right hand corner of the window. If you hover your cursor over the volume control it will display a slider that you can use to adjust the volume. The volume can be instantly muted by clicking the volume button.

If your devices all support Flash (which all PCs and some older Android devices do) the player will be the same on all your devices. However, Apple have never supported Flash, neither do the latest versions of Android. In these cases the player will be a mobile compatible version (HTML5). The exact playback experience will depend on your device, but you’ll still be able to select and stream all our channels

You may receive a “You must enable DRM in your browser to play video on channel.4com” error message when trying to stream our live channels if you have DRM disabled. This prevents you from watching protected content. Please follow these steps to fix this issue.

1. Go to chrome://settings/content
2. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on Protected Content
3. Click the toggle button so it says "Allow sites to play protected content (recommended)"Desktop Firefox browser

There are two ways to unsubscribe:
1. By following the instructions at the bottom of the emails you are receiving. This allows you to unsubscribe directly from the email itself.
2. By signing in to your Account page on Channel4.com. To do this sign in on Channel4.com, then click on your user name in the link at the top of the page to access your Account page. On this page you will see all the emails that you are currently subscribed to. Click on the Edit Details button on your Account page. This makes the page editable. Uncheck any email subscriptions you no longer wish to receive. Click on the Save my changes button to confirm.
