Channel 4 are set to bring UK viewers the ultimate in wintersport's action throughout the coming winter, read more to find out what Skiing on 4 is bringing you this week.
Skiing on 4 this weekend heads down the home straight, as Nick Fellows gets set to bring us all of the action from the World Cup Finals in Sestrieres. Last year's coverage of the World Cup Finals on C4 was the first time that they had been covered on mainstream British television, and this year C4 is extending it's coverage of the event to 10 hours throughout the week.
Friday's show sees us look backwards to the final stops on the tour prior to Sestrieres, Lillehamer in Norway was the venue for the men - and it was a big event too, with the battle for the overall title still very much up in the air. There was the small matter of a Downhill and a Super G to attend to. We also look ahead to Sestrieres and get to speak to many of the key protagonists.
Saturday Nick travels to Sestrieres to bring us up to date with all of the major action from the World Cup Finals so far. Saturday sees us following the Speed events, with both the men's and women's Downhill and Super G's. All throughout the season we have kept up with the battle for the Overall title on both tours and at last, we are right at the core of the action. In the men's competition it's a four-way tussle between Stephan Eberharter, Herman Maier, Bodie Miller and Benjamin Raich. In the women's it's a straight battle between Anja Paerson and Renate Gotschl.
Sunday brings viewers the start of the Technical disciplines as the Men tackle the Giant Slalom and the Women's contest the Slalom. If there were any issues left over after the speed events, today is hopefully the day that we reveal how they were resolved. Nick will be speaking to all of the major players as the Alpine season draws towards a dramatic finale.
Wednesday and it's back to Sestrieres as we take an in depth look at the whole story of the Women's World Cup Finals. Nick will be presenting action from all 4 events and getting the opinions from those involved.
Thursday is a smorgasbord round up of all of the non-Alpine disciplines. From Cross Country to Snowboard. Lesley McKenna was back to compete in the women's Half Pipe after breaking her jaw earlier in the season. She still had chances of getting a podium place. Zoe Gillings was also in Sestrieres in the Women's Boardercross, it's been a great season for the 18 year old and she was very keen to finish the season on a high.
Friday and our penultimate show of the season. We catch up with the full story of the Men's World Cup Finals, with reviews, interviews and of course all of the key action.
Saturday brings our 68th and final programme of the season. We take a look back not just at Sestrieres but also at all of the key events over what has been a memorable and exciting season.
This weeks'
competition offers a week for 2 in Meribel. Not only does it include flights, ski passes etc, but also flying on the 20th, you will be there for the duration of the British Championships. You will get to watch the Championships and also get to meet the team.
