The Lowdown
Park City is different to most stops on the World Cup circuit - it's a classic Western-style mining town, built on its silver resources
The area is famed for its wonderful snow and is usually the first non-glacier event of the World Cup season
The resort hosted the slalom and half-pipe events at the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. Park City was also the site for the USA's first gold, with Kelly Clark winning the women's half-pipe
The resort has over 100 runs with eight huge bowls covering 250 acres
The half-pipe built for the Olympics was praised by riders as the finest in the world. An exact replica is now a permanent feature in the resort
