The Lowdown
Lenzerheide became a resort in 1882 after a cow shed was converted into the 30-bed Hotel Kurhaus
The women's downhill course is one of the fastest on the World Cup circuit with racers often hitting speeds of 110kmh
Picabo Street won the first ever women's downhill event in 1995, with Pernilla Wiberg winning the women's slalom
In January 1984 top slalom racers Phil and Steve Mahre were disqualified from a World Cup race for inadvertently wearing each other's race bib
The Lenzerheide Valley has over 155km of ski runs and two permanent racing slopes
