The resort's Jenner course was the venue for the first World Cup slalom in 1967
In 1974, the Italian national team made history here by taking the first five places in the World Cup giant slalom
The town of Berchtesgaden is famous for its salt mines
Past World Cup winners include America's Kristina Koznick and Switzerland's Marlies Oester, who were both given victories following a dead heat in the slalom event in 2002
The resort is popular with snowboarders and has been holding World Cup events since 1999
