The most traditional race in the giant slalom calendar, Adelboden has hosted over 30 World Cup races since the series began in 1967
The Kuonigsbergli slope is among the most technically demanding in the world and the race is one of few to still be contested on its original course
Slalom legend Ingemar Stenmark dominated the event in the 1970s and 1980s, winning for four consecutive years
With 3,500 inhabitants, the town is tiny compared with neighbouring Gstaad
The resort has 61 runs and its painted wooden chalets and brightly coloured houses are typically Swiss
