  • Racing by age seven
  • Junior Olympic champion in 1994
  • Lacked self-confidence before winning her first World Cup downhill in 2000
  • Was the first skier, male or female, to win four consecutive national downhill titles
I've always felt I could ski well with the best girls, but I'm not sure I really believed I could beat them. When I won that combined downhill I started thinking; I know I can beat the other girls.
