One thousand, five hundred triathletes take on the ultimate triathlon challenge: Ironman. The field take on the challenge of a 2.4-mile swim and a 112-mile cycle ride, followed by a marathon to the finish. One of the finest professional line-ups ever assembled in the UK competes in the inaugural Ironman UK Triathlon, all seeking the glory of winning the country's only Ironman World Championships qualifying event, on one of the toughest triathlon courses anywhere in the world.
