Henry angles for Pires recall

Thierry Henry believes that his Arsenal teammate Robert Pires deserves to be recalled to the France squad by Coach Raymond Domenech.

Pires has not been selected in over a year, but Henry claimed that the former Marseille captain is rediscovering his best form.

“Against Blackburn [last Saturday] he was just very good,” said the striker, who scored Arsenal’s second goal in a 3-0 win thanks to a visionary Pires pass.

“He prefers to play on the left as you know but the timing of the passing for my goal was amazing.”

Henry added: “I just hope it helps him to come back in the national team. That would give him a massive lift.”
