Lens await Frau verdict

Tuesday 29 November, 2005

Lens have made Lyon a “definitive” offer for the services of Pierre-Alain Frau and are waiting to hear back from the French champions.

Les Sang et Or have been trying to finalise a loan deal for the former Sochaux striker for several weeks, but are reluctant to meet Lyon’s demanding terms.

Lyon President Jean-Michel Aulas is insisting that Lens cover Frau’s wages as well as paying a fee for the loan deal.

His Lens counterpart Gervais Martel has now made his final offer. “If Lyon accept it, he will go to Lens. If not he will stay at Lyon,” said Frau’s agent Philippe Flavier.

“We’ve been working on this deal for a month," he went on. "It has been very complicated because there is too large a gap between the Presidents’ valuations and the situation has become delicate for the player. A decision will have to be taken sooner or later.”

Frau, 25, has featured in just four League matches under Gérard Houllier and has made it clear that he is keen on a move to the Stade Félix-Bollaert.
