Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Vikash Dhorasoo concedes that the capital side have yet to see the best of him since he joined in the summer.
Curiously, the France international has been a consistent performer for Les Bleus in recent months, but his displays for PSG have left much to be desired, and he has come in for criticism from the fans, Coach Laurent Fournier and some of his teammates.
"As long as the critics focus on my performances on the pitch, then yes [they are right]," he admitted. "But I didn't come to the capital to live in Paris, I came to play for PSG.
"I'm not taking it easy before retirement, I'm here because I want this to work. The club's ambitions appealed to me and the end of my career could be fabulous."
The 32-year-old puts part of his troubles down to having been asked to fulfil a number of roles across the midfield, although he hardly has a fixed post in the France team either.
"It's true that I didn't think I was coming here as a utility player," he explained. "That's unsettled me a lot and has harmed the way I prepare for games.
"I admit that I want to do better. On the other hand, I'm working hard and I try to give it my all in training and during games. But it's not always easy for me."
The former AC Milan nonetheless believes that the recent signs are encouraging, and he is looking forward to the rest of the campaign.
"I feel really good since our match against Troyes in the Coupe de la Ligue (4-1). That liberated me and I feel like my season is underway now."
