Ligue 2 Week 10: Créteil miss out

Créteil missed out on the chance to reclaim top spot in Ligue 2 when they were held to a goalless draw at home by Valenciennes in Week 10.

League leaders Bastia were forced to postpone their home match with Sedan due to security problems in Corsica, but second-placed Créteil failed to take advantage. The Paris-based club went ahead through Moreira against Valenciennes, but Savidan earned the visitors a share of the spoils when he equalised before half-time.

Caen seem to be recovering from their dreadful start to the season, with Friday’s 1-0 win at home to Lorient lifting them to 15th in the standings.

Another recently-relegated team, Istres, suffered a 4-3 defeat at Châteauroux, for whom Hima, the striker on loan from Lyon, scored twice. That win takes Châteauroux to fourth.

Elsewhere, Le Havre edged past Sète thanks to Traore’s early goal and they move sixth in the table, while Laval remain bottom despite claiming a point at Gueugnon. Montpellier’s home match with Guingamp and Amiens’ clash with Clermont both finished goalless.
