Créteil suffered their first defeat of the season against Amiens, allowing Bastia to overtake them in top spot.

A goal from Dia shortly before half-time sealed an impressive victory for Amiens, who have climbed to fifth in the table, four points behind Créteil. The defeat left Créteil with 18 points from their first nine matches, which is only good enough for second place.

Replacing them at the top are Corsican side Bastia, who edged past Guingamp thanks to Meslin’s goal. The recently-relegated outfit are now two points clear of their northern rivals. Sedan moved third with a home win over Gueugnon, while fourth-placed Lorient were beaten 2-1 by Grenoble.

Former European Cup finalists Reims look set for another long season following their latest defeat, a 1-0 reverse at home to Dijon. Reims are now 17th, just above the relegation zone thanks to their superior goal difference over Montpellier.
