Having escaped relegation to the third division on the final day of last season Créteil are the surprise Ligue 2 leaders after Week 3.
The club from the eastern suburbs of Paris destroyed Gueugnon 4-0 thanks to a blistering start. Goals to Christophe Aubanel and Amadou Mbodji inside the opening ten minutes set the tone for the evening. Ivory Coast defender Cyril Domoraud headed a third on 19 minutes before Ali Boulebda rounded of the evening with a fourth 15 minutes from time.
They were joined at the top by Châteauroux who came from behind to beat Montpellier 2-1. Abdoulaye Cissé had given the visitors a first half lead but an Armindo Ferreira goal two minutes after the restart and a Teddy Bertin penalty four minutes from the end gave Châteauroux their second win of the season.
Lorient and Istres complete the leading quartet after the Britanny side drew 1-1 with derby rivals Guingamp and Xavier Gravelaine's Istres scraped past Sète 2-1 thanks to M'Futi's stoppage time winner.
Valenciennes returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Grenoble while former Ligue 1 regulars Bastia overcame Amiens on the mainland, 2-1. Clermont dented Sedan's winning ways with a 1-0 win at home while Brest and Le Havre fought out a 2-2 draw.
Finally, Caen's disastrous start to the season continued with a 2-0 loss to Reims.
