Troyes moved away from the drop zone after their come-from-behind win over Rennes on Sunday. The visitors will feel hard done by coming away without a point having created the best chances of a scrappy encounter.
Dangerous on the counterattack throughout the game, Rennes duly took the lead in the 17th minute when Olivier Monterrubio intelligently cut a free kick into the path of Yoann Gourcuff who crashed his shot under the Troyes crossbar.
But Troyes showed good resilience and hit back just 10 minutes later, Tunisia international Zied Jaziri firing a powerful crossshot beyond the reach of Rennes’ inexperienced goalkeeper Pouplin.
The home side seemed tired after the break, and Laszlo Boloni must have fancied his side's chances of stealing a valuable three points.
But the Romanian Coach could only look on with horror 11 minutes from time, as Karl Tourennne latched onto Christian Nadé’s miscued effort to score.
Troyes’ third win of the season takes them to 16th in the table, three points above the relegation zone.
