Strasbourg's problems continue as they went down yet again, losing 1-0 at home to Rennes.
Still without a single win in Ligue 1 this term, Jacky Duguépéroux's side will be cursing their luck tonight after an error from goalkeeper Stéphane Cassard handed Rennes a rare away triumph.
In contrast, the Brittany outfit's No 1 Andreas Isaksson was in immaculate form, with Arthur Boka, Pontus Farnerud, Ulrich Le Pen and Rabo Hosni either drawing fine saves from the Swede or firing off-target in the first-half.
Rennes had little to offer at the other end, but they had the merit of scoring from one of their rare sorties when U-21 international Jimmy Briand advanced on goal. Defender Karim Haggui was there to make a tackle or force the striker wide, but Cassard inexplicably raced off his line, leaving the youngster the chance to lob him from all of 35 metres out.
The second-half turned into a siege on the Rennes goal, but Isaksson kept his teammates on course for an opportunistic win that lifts them to 13th with two saves from danger-man Mickaël Pagis.
