A last-gasp goal from Benjamin Genghini sealed a 1-0 win for Sochaux against Rennes on Saturday.
Having beaten Ajaccio with a late flurry last weekend, Sochaux continued their recent revival with another late show here.
Their saviour this time was Benjamin Genghini, who, three minutes after coming on to make his Ligue 1 debut, headed the ball past Simon Pouplin and into the Rennes net.
It was a perfect start for Genghini, who is the son of the former international Bernard.
Rennes were left wondering what might have been having dominated the game for long periods. But with Sochaux ‘keeper Teddy Richert in excellent form, they could not find a way through.
