Lens got back to their drawing ways on Sunday as they came from behind against Sochaux at the Stade Bonal.
After seven consecutive stalemates, Les Sang et Or mustered a victory against Toulouse last weekend, but could not repeat the trick here. Sochaux, meanwhile, failed in their bid to win consecutive home matches for the first time this season.
Les Doubistes got off to the perfect start when their Brazilian hot-shot Araujo Ilan latched onto a mistake from Adama Coulibaly before slotting calmly past Charles Itandje in the 10th minute.
The goal sparked a period of sustained pressure from Dominique Bijotat’s side but they failed to convert any of their subsequent first-half chances, as Itandje pulled of a string of fine saves.
Sochaux were made to pay for their profligacy, as Lens came alive in the second half.
Scorer of a hat-trick in the UEFA Cup in midweek, Daniel Cousin was on target again here shortly after the hour mark.
Eric Carrière, whose excellent play inspired the visitors after the break, was involved in the build up, and when the ball ricocheted off Omar Daf into the path of Cousin, the in-form Gabonese star duly slotted it home.
