Newly-promoted Nancy made it four wins on the trot as they overcame Toulouse 2-0 at home to move up to seventh in Ligue 1.
Toulouse themselves had been on a run of three consecutive successes, but they had trouble coping with the penetration of Adrian Sarkissian and finally paid the price on 26 minutes, when the Uruguayan midfielder whipped in a corner towards Frédéric Biancalani.
His shot took a wicked deflection off Pape Diakhaté, but it sped into the net to give the hosts a well-earned lead. Francileudo Santos's pace remained a threat on the break for Toulouse, yet Elie Kroupi was constantly creating danger at the other end and saw a good effort come back off the post just before half-time.
It turned out to be a sign of things to come and, when Jérémy Mathieu impeded Adailton in the Toulouse area, Kroupi stepped up to fire in the penalty that wrapped up the points.
