Marseille remain stuck in midtable after being held to a 1-1 draw away to Nancy.
Jean Fernandez's side drop to 10th overall, yet the situation could have been worse after Moncef Zerka handed the hosts the lead, and the visitors were no doubt suffering following their UEFA Cup defeat to Levski Sofia on Thursday.
Despite that, it was Marseille who made the first real incursion as Lorik Cana headed a Franck Ribéry corner just wide of Gennaro Bracigliano's goal. The Nancy captain then had to be alert to stifle a pacey counter-attack led by Ribéry and Mamadou Niang, and he was again called into action moments later to keep out a vicious drive from Wilson Oruma.
Kim began making a nuisance of himself at the other end without ever truly testing Fabien Barthez, but Nancy were determined to respond blow for blow and had the last chance of the half when Adrian Sarkissian forced Barthez into a smart stop.
Fernandez shuffled his deck after the break, introducing midfielder Samir Nasri for defender André Luis, yet it looked to have been a rash move when Nancy picked up possession in midfield and poured forwards allowing Zerka to sweep the ball past Barthez on 48 minutes.
Marseille refused to let their heads drop, though, and their commitment paid off soon afterwards as Senegalese striker Niang powered in a low Ribéry cross at the near post. Niang went close to grabbing a second as well, but his curled shot span safely wide of Bracigliano's goal.
Nancy were not done yet, meanwhile, and Sébastien Puygrenier headed inches wide to remind the visitors they would be pushed hard until the final whistle. Nonetheless, it was the Mediterranean club that came closest to taking all three points at the end, with Sabri Lamouchi having a shot cleared off the line and substitute Andres Mendoza somehow blazing wide of the target with practically the last kick of the game.
