A double from the rejuvenated Jean-Claude Darcheville saw Bordeaux move second with a 2-0 win over struggling Troyes at the Stade Chaban-Delmas on Saturday.
An inspirational display from Darcheville capped a great week for Ricardo's side after eliminating Marseille from the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday.
Bordeaux came flying out of the blocks and went ahead with their first real chance of the match when Darcheville got the better of Blaise Kouassi, dribbled Ronan Le Crom and passed the ball into the empty net after just seven minutes.
With confidence high, Bordaux could have added a raft of first-half goals however Lilian Laslandes, Bruno Cheyrou, Franck Jurietti and Darcheville all wasted good openings.
Troyes added to the open match by insisting on attacking, however neither Frédéric Adam nor Kouassi could force Ulrich Ramé into a save.
Troyes clearly considered themselves a chance at claiming a result before Darcheville killed off their hopes with a majestic free-kick ten minutes after the break, after a foul on the Brazilian Denilson.
For so long a target of last season's boo-boys at the Stade Chaban-Delmas, goal-hero Darcheville received a resounding ovation as he made way for Marouane Chamakh with just under 15 minutes left on the clock.
