Paris Saint-Germain players have lifted the lid on former Coach Vahid Halilhodzic’s oppressive regime that they claim ruined last season.
Currently on a preseason camp at Capbreton, the capital club players believe new Coach Laurent Fournier has restored a sense of balance to the team's life.
“There’s democracy and dictatorship,” said midfielder Edouard Cissé. “We’ve returned to the democracy.
“Last year we had to be in bed by certain times and we weren’t allowed to be seen around the hotel or chat amongst ourselves at the bar.
“We were working like dogs and there was no ambience at all and that’s the whole idea of a team camp.”
“Last year you weren’t allowed to scratch your ear without permission,” added defender Sylvain Armand. “Today we don’t feel like we’re under surveillance. It might not sound like a big thing, but it is!”
"We don’t feel the incredible day-to-day pressure and the new rules are perfect,” added Cameroon midfielder Modeste M’Bami.
“Last year certain tensions between players got way out of hand just because of the strict conditions we were all living under.”
