Henry calls for teamwork

Thierry Henry has reminded his Arsenal teammates that football is a team game. The Gunners looked lacklustre in their 0-0 draw with Ajax in midweek, with Henry missing a penalty in the first half.

“At times against Ajax we forgot football is a team effort and not a solo show,” said the French international.

“We forget about teammates in better positions. We try to force our way in rather than pass to players in better positions around the box. That is something I’m thinking about more.

“There is a fine line. Maybe we could pass the ball better and when in a dead angle sometimes pass the ball to the guy who is in the centre.

“Football is a team effort and sometimes when you’re not playing well you need to go back to basics and play as a team.”
