Senegal and Bolton forward El-Hadji Diouf could be facing six months imprisonment after being accused of assaulting a woman.
Diouf has been summoned to a court in Dakar following claims that he attacked Aichatou Ba, the former wife of Diouf’s Bolton teammate Khalilou Fadiga, in a Senegal nightclub in July.
Ba was allegedly unable to work for 25 days because of the injuries sustained. “Diouf physically attacked my client and the judge is calling for six months imprisonment,” Ba's lawyer Doudou Ndoye told Reuters.
“I don’t personally think he should go to prison but he needs to be taught a lesson. You don’t hit a woman.”
Earlier this week, the former Lens star had his driver's licence taken away for 12 months after being found guilty of driving under the influence of alcohol by a Bolton court.
