Lens midfielder Jérôme Leroy is on the brink of signing for Beitar Jeruslam after travelling to Israel to discuss a two-and-a-half year contract.
Leroy, who previously said he was not interested in the move, has also attracted the attentions of Marseille, but looks set to team up once more with the former Paris Saint-Germain Coach Luis Fernandez, Beitar’s new general manager.
“Jérôme asked us a few days ago if he could travel there to discuss an interesting offer from Jerusalem,” explained Lens President Gervais Martel.
“They are offering him two-and-a-half years while he only has one-and-a-half years left with us. If we reach an agreement with the club, we will not stand in his way.”
The 31-year-old has played 15 times for Lens this season but has fallen out of favour with Coach Francis Gillot in recent weeks.
