Fournier out to defy Lyon

Paris Saint-Germain Coach Laurent Fournier believes his team are capable of inflicting a first defeat this season on Ligue 1 pacesetters Lyon.

Gérard Houllier's side are 13 points ahead of the capital club, in fourth, but Fournier will remind his players that they picked up all three points at the Stade Gerland last season.

"Last year's victory proves that an upset is possible," he explained. "But, of course, their Coach and players have changed since then.

"We know perfectly well that it's going to be tough because over the last year OL have developed even more confidence, maturity and strength, despite Michael Essien moving on.

"For us, a good result would restore some confidence to the side. Why can't we win there?

"If we go there with the attitude that we'll give nothing away, we'll be solid in defence and avoid mistakes on the edge of the area then anything's possible. I'm sure we'll get chances."
