Nakata weighing up options

Out-of-favour Marseille defender Koji Nakata says he may leave the club when the January transfer window opens.

The Japan international – who signed an 18-month contract with OM last January – has lost his place in the starting line-up to Taye Taiwo, and explained on his website that he is considering leaving the Stade Vélodrome.

He nonetheless added that he is, "not clear about anything at this point," and revealed that he turned down an offer from an unnamed Israeli side in December.

Marseille may oppose any transfer, though, as first-choice left-back Taiwo is set to contest the African Cup of Nations with Nigeria next month.
