Jestrovic snubs French duo

Anderlecht striker Nenad Jestrovic has rejected offers from Marseille and Auxerre in favour of joining United Arab Emirates side Al Ain.

The 29-year-old Serbian has signed a two-year deal with his new club after prioritising next year's World Cup and the need to be guaranteed regular playing time.

"Out of all the concrete offers, my preference in purely sporting terms is Marseille," he announced earlier this week.

"But that's not the only factor that comes into play. The World Cup which is coming next summer is another argument to take into consideration."

The former Metz forward also turned down an approach from Spanish outfit Betis Seville.
