Paris Saint-Germain forward Fabrice Pancrate now looks almost certain to stay at the Parc des Princes following the appointment of new Coach Guy Lacombe.
The 25-year-old was expected to join Auxerre on loan in the next few days following negotiations between the two clubs, but Lacombe remembers him from their time together at Guingamp.
He also gave Pancrate his first taste of professional football when he bought him from Louhans-Cuiseaux in 2000, and has made it clear he is counting on him for the rest of the season.
"What Fabrice has done is good, and his flexibility could be very useful to the PSG squad," he declared.
"We've already worked together, I know him well and I know how he goes about things," added the player, who can operate on the right of midfield or up front. "That's a big advantage."
Pancrate was set to sign for Auxerre in the summer only for the deal to fall through, but was eager to resuscitate the deal after making just three starts under Laurent Fournier.
