Jean-Claude Darcheville has ended speculation that he could be on his way to Rangers by insisting he will stay at Bordeaux until the summer.
The former Lorient ace was tempted by a lucrative offer from the Scottish champions, as well as the possibility of playing in the Champions’ League.
But he said: “Despite the huge offer from Glasgow Rangers, I have decided to stay at Bordeaux until June 2006.
“We are third in the League halfway through the season and we’ve qualified for the Coupe de la Ligue quarter-finals. I’ve always wanted to win a trophy with Bordeaux.”
It nonetheless seems likely that Darcheville will quit the Stade Chaban-Delmas next summer when he will be out contract.
