Henry demands improvement

Thursday 22 December, 2005

France striker Thierry Henry has called on Arsenal to raise their game after suffering three consecutive Premiership defeats.

The Gunners' dreadful recent run has seen them drop 20 points adrift of Chelsea - and will have done little to convince Henry to stay on at Highbury beyond next season.

The former Monaco ace, who has shaken off a minor ankle knock, is now hoping for a positive reaction against Charlton on Boxing Day. "Things aren't going our way. It's not an excuse, but it's the way it is," said Henry.

"The main thing is that we all have to raise our game. It's not only down to one or two players, we all now have to raise our game."

The Arsenal captain added: "It's going to be crucial as Charlton aren't doing that well in the league and we're not either.

"It's vital now, more than ever, to get the three points."

Henry has been strongly linked with a move to Barcelona in the summer after stalling talks for a new contract.
