English duo watch Bamogo

Thursday 22 December, 2005

Premiership duo Sunderland and West Ham United are reportedly eyeing a bid for Nantes striker Habib Bamogo.

Hammers boss Alan Pardew has already tried to sign Bamogo once in the summer but reports in France suggest he is ready to try again.

It is claimed that scouts both from the London side and from Sunderland have been watching the 23-year-old in recent weeks amidst rumours that he would be available in January.

He is currently on loan from Marseille but with Kenyan forward Denis Oliech arriving at La Beaujoire from Al-Arabi in the upcoming transfer window it is thought he may become surplus to requirements.

The Frenchman has scored four times during the current campaign but his best season came in 2003-04 when he clocked up 16 goals for Montpellier.
