Barcelona confirm Henry interest

Barcelona President Joan Laporta has outlined his determination to sign Arsenal striker Thierry Henry.

The France international has 18 months left on his contract, but according to FIFA rules can buy out the final year - and he has so far stalled on penning a new deal with the Gunners.

"We have to do everything we can to sign him," declared Laporta, whose thoughts were echoed by FIFA World Player of the Year Ronaldinho.

"Everyone at Barcelona is talking about Henry coming," said the Brazilian forward. "I wouldn't be unhappy if he signed for Barça.

"Henry is a beautiful player and he's got complete technique. I love watching him play. I respect him a lot as a man and as a footballer. He reminds me of myself."
