Out-of-work Coach Guy Lacombe is being touted to take over from Rennes boss Laszlo Boloni, according to reports in France.
Sports daily L'Equipe claim that the former Sochaux tactician has a growing number of supporters at the Stade de la Route de Lorient, where the club's pitiful UEFA Cup showing has called Boloni's position into question.
The Brittany outfit suffered four defeats in four games in Europe, conceding 10 goals and scoring just once, and club owner François Pinault is known to have been particularly disappointed.
President Emmanuel Cueff insists he will stick with the Franco-Romanian trainer, though, and Rennes boast three more Ligue 1 points than they did at the same stage last term before going on to take fourth spot.
Lacombe, who won the Coupe de la Ligue with Sochaux in 2004, is also being linked with the Paris Saint-Germain hot-seat.
