Portsmouth winger Laurent Robert looks set to be given a lifeline at the club by new boss Harry Redknapp.
The former Paris Saint-Germain ace proved to be a bad dressing-room influence during former Coach Alain Perrin’s time at the club, but Redknapp is preferring to concentrate on what he can do on the pitch.
“Robert definitely comes strongly into my thinking for this weekend's game against West Brom,” said Redknapp.
“I am sure he can play a big part for us as he has ability and flair to open up teams. He has shown time and again he can score goals, which is what we are short of at the moment.
“We have not won at home since April, so maybe we have got to be more adventurous without going too mad chasing forward and leaving holes at the back.
"But in Robert we have a player who can perhaps give us that bit of something we have been missing.”
