Portsmouth chairman Milan Mandaric has admitted that the club could make a January swoop for Amdy Faye.
The Senegal international has been with the Magpies for under a year after costing them £2m from Pompey.
But now that Harry Redknapp has returned to Coach the South Coast outfit it appears as though he could be reunited with the player he signed from Auxerre for £1.5m in 2003.
“I haven't had that much time to speak to Harry about players, but I know that he likes Amdy Faye,” stated Mandaric. “It's Harry's call, and I will support him when the time comes.”
When told of the news, Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd said: “If Portsmouth, or anyone else for that matter, want any of our players in January then they will have to put their money on the table.”
