Marseille Coach Jean Fernandez was a happy man after his side saw off Dinamo Bucharest 2-1 to top UEFA Cup Group F.
Bostjan Cesar and José Delfim grabbed first-half goals for the hosts, with Claudiu Niculescu netting for Bucharest, to ensure the Mediterranean club will avoid an ex-Champions' League team in the last 32.
"Mission accomplished!" declared Fernandez afterwards. "We had to win to finish top of the group and we did that against a side who came to attack with two strikers.
"We made the difference from dead-ball situations and I'm pleased with that because we've worked a lot on them since the start of the season.
"We held on to the result right up until the end and that wasn't easy to do after the Auxerre match. It would be nice to perform this well away from home, starting against Strasbourg on Saturday.
"We won the Intertoto Cup and we've finished top of our pool, so now we're all looking forward to the draw for the next round."
