Paris Saint-Germain striker Pedro Pauleta says he is enjoying the best season of his career in France after netting 12 goals in 17 games.
A brace from the Portugal international against Rennes at the weekend fired PSG to a 2-0 win just days after the striker had launched a stinging attack on his own teammates.
Pauleta, who spent three seasons at Bordeaux and is now in his third season in the capital, said: “It’s my best season since I arrived in France.
"I’ve already got 12 goals. I’ve started well and I hope to continue this way and have a complete season.”
Despite his angry words last week, the 32-year-old feels the club are moving forward.
“The team is more attacking than last season so I’m getting more chances. I feel in good physical shape and I have good players behind me,” he said.
“I’m happy with my performances. But in order to score I need my teammates to give me good balls. They are also important.”
Pauleta added: “Against Rennes everyone played well. Everyone closed down high up the pitch, showing good aggression. We are fourth, two points off second.
"This is probably the best start to a season we’ve had since I’ve been here.”
