El Hadji Diouf has revealed his relief at leaving Liverpool to sign a permanent deal with Bolton in the summer.
The former Lens striker endured an unhappy two years at Anfield before making a loan switch to the Trotters last season.
He helped Sam Allardyce’s side qualify for the UEFA Cup and then agreed to a permanent deal and he hasn’t looked back since.
“People asked why I was coming to Bolton,” said Diouf. “Now they can see why.
“I did not come here just to play Premiership football. I came here to play in Europe and, why not, the Champions' League.”
