Rangers are allegedly lining up a January swoop for Bordeaux striker Jean-Claude Darcheville.
The reigning SPL champions have been in poor form of late, although they have managed to become the first Scottish side to reach the latter stages of the Champions League.
But boss Alex McLeish has lined up several players to boost their cause after Christmas including former Nottingham Forest striker Darcheville.
“I spoke to McLeish after the Champions League game against Inter Milan and I expect an offer for him in January,” said Darcheville’s agent Karim Djaziri. “He is wanted by another big club in Europe and will decide between them.
“He knows UK football and feels it is good for him as he quick and powerful. If Rangers made a good offer for him, he would like to come.”
