Paulo Costa given Palace trial

Out-of-favour Bordeaux midfielder Sergio Paulo Costa has began a trial with Championship outfit Crystal Palace.

The 26-year-old Portuguese player has a week to impress the London club after failing to make a Ligue 1 appearance for the Girondins' since Coach Ricardo joined in the summer.

Paulo Costa moved to Bordeaux from Venezia in 2003 and featured 16 times during the 2003-04 campaign, before spending last term out on loan with Portuguese side Gil Vicente.
