Strasbourg boss Jacky Duguépéroux believes his team can survive this season - despite waiting until the 18th game of the season to register their first win.
The Alsace club ran out 2-1 winners against Nancy on Saturday, a result that was good enough to lift them off the bottom of the table.
“It’s been a long and difficult wait,” the Coach said. “But I think that when you look at the game as a whole, our victory was not totally undeserved.
“Now when we look at the other results, it gives us some hope. The game with OM next Saturday is now more important than our UEFA Cup match against Red Star Belgrade.”
Despite their dreadful domestic form, Strasbourg have cruised into the last 32 of the UEFA Cup with a game to spare.
