France boss Raymond Domenech admits he is disappointed to have landed Switzerland in Friday’s World Cup draw.
After struggling to two draws against Kobi Kuhn’s side in qualification, Domenech is not looking forward to taking them on again in their opening World Cup match on June 13.
“I’d have preferred another team,” he said. “They know us well, we know them well. I’d be happier if there was a rule preventing you being drawn against a team you've played in qualifying.
“I’ve started preparations for the World Cup with great motivation, even if this game with the Swiss has taken an edge off my desire.
"But France can only improve in the next six months and the objective will be to arrive fresh and ready to take on Switzerland,” he added.
Domenech was also cautious when speaking about France’s other two opponents, South Korea and Togo.
Zinedine Zidane suffered an injury the last time the French played South Korea in a warm up for World Cup 2002, while the memory of losing to Senegal makes Domenech wary of Togo.
“We have a bad memory of South Korea, while Togo… you only have to think about Senegal.
"At this level there are no easy teams. Everyone will be well prepared. I’ll be going to the African Nations Cup to watch Togo, but in any case I’d say everyone is even at this stage.”
