Coach: Joël Muller
Jean Fernandez's departure to Marseille was a heavy blow for les Messins, but their fans will have been pleased to see old favourite Joël Muller brought in as his replacement. A Metz player between 1971 and 1978, Muller left his greatest mark on the Lorraine club as Coach from 1989-2000. During that time, he led the side to Coupe de la Ligue glory in 1996 and, two years later, his charges came within a whisker of being crowned champions. He was then sacked while President Carlo Molinari was in hospital, and will be eager to complete unfinished business after a mixed spell at Lens in the interim. |
