2006 World Cup Qualifier - 8/9/04
Faroe Islands 0-2 France
Giuly (F) 32, Cisse (F) 73
Torshavn

Raymond Domenech celebrated his first victory as France boss but the result was soured by the sending off of Patrick Vieira.

Three changes were made to the side that drew with Israel in their last match and it was one of these changes that proved pivotal, with Ludovic Giuly opening the scoring.

But early in the second half, Vieira received a second yellow card for diving. Djibril Cisse made the win certain when he converted Giuly’s cross late on.
